Certification Standard for Zero Waste

This standard (SCS-110) is applicable to organizations that manage or own facilities, projects, or events and wish to demonstrate waste diversion from landfill and incineration. It provides a framework for measuring and reporting waste diversion as a percentage of total waste generated, accounting for pathways such as reuse, reclamation, donation, recycling, composting, energy recovery, and waste prevention through redesign. Certification against SCS-110 requires organizations to track and document waste management outcomes and achieve minimum diversion thresholds of 50% for facilities and projects or 75% for events. By recognizing and encouraging responsible waste management practices, certification against SCS-110 supports landfill diversion, resource conservation, and increased transparency regarding waste disposal practices.

Assurance System:
